The Rochester Regional Health Flower City Challenge is a series of events taking place in Rochester, NY on the weekend of April 21 & 22, 2018.  This is a participatory and spectator friendly event that showcases the culture, history, neighborhoods and river ways of Rochester, NY.  Over these two days there will be 4 events available to the public.  On April 21st there is the Duathlon or Triathlon and on April 22nd there is the Half Marathon or 5K.

The first day of the event, called the SMP Rochester River Challenge, incorporates a Duathlon & Paddle Triathlon at Genesee Waterways Center on Elmwood Avenue. Participants start with a 5K run in Genesee Valley Park, where they eventually cross both the Genesee River and the Erie Canal. After the 5K, they will bike for a 20 mile road course that will take them south of the City into the town of Scottsville, passing the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Greater Rochester International Airport.  After returning to Genesee Valley Park, participants will run a final 5K run through the park or paddle their way up the Genesee River by canoe or kayak, passing the historic Ford Street Bridge.

All Du/Tri registrants receive a gender-specific, 1/4 zip, long-sleeve technical shirt.  Participants who are registered by March 15, 2018 will get their first name pre-printed on a custom bib. All finishers will receive a unique finisher’s medallion as they cross the finish line.
