We regret to have to announce the cancellation of this Saturday’s 4th Freezeroo race of the season. We had hoped till tonight to go forward with the event. Unfortunately, given the predicted severe cold and wind chill for this Saturday (predicted to be wind chill of -25 degrees!) the town of Greece and its law enforcement have suggested today that it should be canceled. Although we realize that many of our competitors can in fact handle the worst that upstate New York can throw at us, this may not be true of all, and the safety of all our members and competitors has to be our priority. We will adjust the awards for the series to reflect a total of five races. We will still plan for our last race, the “Edge of the World” in the town of Ontario on 2/27/16, followed by the series awards ceremony. We as a board don’t take this decision lightly and sincerely wanted to hold this event if at all possible. We hope all will however understand the need to cancel Saturday’s race in the interest of safety for all our competitors.

Hello Runners!

A couple of IMPORTANT items to note in preparation for tomorrow's Hearnish Freezeroo!
  • At the request of the Monroe County Department of Transportation, the race course will be run in reverse! (Fear not, we don't mean running backwards!) The course will be reversed - in essence, run counter clockwise. We will have updated maps on site tomorrow morning for the race, and road marshals to keep you on the right track. This change is for the safety of all runners!
  • Also in the interest of safety, we would like to remind all runners to run on the shoulder facing traffic and to yield to motorists.
  • If you are a series runner, please remember to bring your reusable race bib! You have the same bib and the same number for all series races.
If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for a great race!
