The Lilac Run is BACK, May 23, 2021!
With an all new COVID safe format
It’s everyone’s FAVORITE race! The Lilac in-person 5K/10K marks the kick-off to the warm weather. This course winds along the Genesee River with a start and finish Genesee Valley Park. This year, we will also offer virtual options for the the Lilac 5k/10K.
The 4th annual Rush-Henrietta Kicking Hunger 5K will be held on the weekend of Friday, June 4th to Sunday, June 6th. Our hope is to hold a live event on Saturday, June 5th at 8:00 am, starting and ending in Veterans Memorial Park on Calkins Road in Henrietta. We are also offering a virtual option for participants anytime over that weekend.
Proceeds from the race have directly led to the opening and continuation of the Kicking Hunger Food Pantry on East Henrietta Road in Henrietta. The pantry opened in late November and more information can be found at https://www.rhnet.org/. The race also provided over 1,800 bags of food to Rush-Henrietta Central School District families from March to August 2020.
The race this year will be held on August 14, 2021 at Churchville-Chili Middle School. In-person registration will begin at 8:30am and the race will begin at 9:30am. Our hope is to hold an in-person race this year. If we need to move the race virtual because of COVID-19 we will let all registrants know as soon as possible.
The Oak Tree Half Marathon is the premier distance running race in the region. Run through the National Historic Landmark District of Geneseo and head into the Genesee Valley past 300 year old oak savannahs, sheep pastures, and horse farms.
The course features spectacular scenery with a small town feel but includes all of the amenities you would expect at a big city race.
With live music on the course, historic aircraft flyovers, and hand-made finisher medals, the Oak Tree is a unique half marathon that showcases the beauty of the Genesee Valley.
