River Run 5k @ Genesee Valley Park - Roundhouse Shelter
Apr 26 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

On Sunday April 26, 2020, the Strong Memorial Hospital Transplant Programs and the Friends of Strong will host the 19th Annual Rochester River 5k Run and Walk. We are hosting this event during Organ Donor Awareness Month, which will give us an opportunity to promote organ donation in our community. The money raised from the Rochester River Run/Walk 5K directly benefits heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas patients when these needs arise. Patients often experience financial hardships while awaiting and receiving a transplant, or following through with expensive anti-rejection and life sustaining medication regimens post-transplant.

Do one or all three! To qualify for all three, you must finish the first race before the next race begins. The course is picturesque scenery with it’s share of “inclines” to break up all the beautiful views!
All three events start and finish at the Parade Grounds.
Join the Sehgahunda Trail Marathon & Relay/Vale of Three Falls group Facebook page to stay up to date with all things regarding Lady Sehgahunda & Vale of Three Falls!

WHY “SEHGAHUNDA” Weekend? WHY LETCHWORTH STATE PARK?
The Sehgahunda Valley (“Vale of Three Falls”), which encompasses the portion of the Genesee River Valley, was comprised of several villages settled by the Seneca People. The locations of these villages make up the current boundaries of Letchworth State Park.
Letchworth State Park spans over 14,000 acres, with miles and miles of trails – all with varying degrees of technicality to challenge both experienced runners and casual hikers. Many of the trails that make up this race are the very trails used by the Seneca Indians to access the Genesee River, which bisects this valley, giving rise to its nickname “The Grand Canyon of the East.”
We dare you to experience the beauty, history, and challenge of this unique event!

Made in the ROC 5K/10K @ Eastman Business Park
Aug 16 @ 8:00 am

Boots and Ellen (Owners of YellowJacket Racing) got to go on a tour of the property, so unique and to them beautiful in its own way. Some spots have so much piping going between buildings it almost feels like you are in a tunnel. The property was (and still is) the home of Eastman Kodak, among several other corporations. Once upon a time, this property housed much of Kodak’s manufacturing, research and industry. This property was like a forbidden land for runners. Unless you worked on the property you don’t normally get to see the expansive industry that occurs there for Rochester. And now it’s gates are opening to runners and walkers at Made in the ROC 5K/10K. Today, known as Eastman Business Park, is the home to various industries including energy, food & beverage, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, plastics, roll to roll manufacturing and photonics. It employs thousands and creates products and services right here in Rochester, NY.

Both courses will run UNDER Ridge Road. They’ll go past George Eastman’s Memorial where his ashes are buried, past Kodak’s oldest building, along with several other corporations. This course exhibits beauty via its industrial and creatively engineered buildings and infrastructure. You can feel the productivity, imaginativeness and inventiveness throughout the campus.

The idea is to celebrate all that has been created in the ROC in the past, present and future. #madeintheroc

Amenities Include:

Finisher medals – to commemorate the Original Kodak Brownie camera
Chip timing by YellowJacket Racing
Premium blend cotton short sleeved t-shirts to all registrants by August 3rd plus the next 100 registered.
Plenty of post-race food for all participants
